WELCOME TO CROSSROADS AWANA!!!
Our club is now celebrating it's 37th year. Many of our previous clubbers are now working in the awana program and that is exactly what awana is all about. Children need to have training and good role models, awana fits the bill.
How we make sure your child is safe
Your childs safety is as important to us as it is to you. We train our workers in basic skills and additionally we have volunteers that have specific medical experience that can help with most emergencies that may arise. As part of our registration process parents are asked to provide us with all of the most pertinent information relating medical or other emergency contact. We want you to be assured that when your child comes to club they are safe.
About our leaders
Awana practices what they preach! As a result all of our workers are trained to deal with the children that they work with. This includes basic training and orientation and then role training that certifies them as qualified worker. Each worker is involved in a minimum of 4-8 hours of concentrated study along with scripture memorization, so that they can handle questions your child may have about spiritual matters. Futhermore Crossroads does finger printing and background checks about each person we allow to work in all of our children's ministries. The biggest qualification for our workers is that they must love the Lord and the young people they work with.
Other cool stuff you want to know about
Did you know that we sponsor other awana clubs like us around the world? We call it Adopt-a-Club. Each year our club raises over $1,400 to send to other countries that don't have the money to purchase circulumn and other supplies. Clubbers earn this money and then collectively donate it to Awana International. Last year we started a new activity called the Awana Bike-a-thon to raise money for this program. The idea is that clubbers are sponsored by individuals to ride their bicycles. Donations can be made either as a flat amount or on a mileage basis. Please help if you are approached to sponsor a child!
This is missions - children helping children. They are learning that you must be involved for change to take place.
